Bits on the side

Martin sold over 150000 copies of his own composed and written music. Martin has written over 70 songs in the past 2 decades with 3 worldwide Top 100 (Electronic Dance) Chart hits. Highest position at number 3 in the iTunes Top Songs Charts (2015 & 2016). Martin is one of the Top 3 Ranked alternative independent artists in recent years.

Martin was featured with one of his 1980s very own Goth outfit designs at the London Victoria & Albert Museum among Vivienne Westwood, Siouxsie Sioux, Adam Ant and Pam Hogg. His outfit design is now part of the permanent V&A archived Street Style Collection and can be viewed upon request.

Martin's first recording back in 1995 was produced by Dead Or Alive (Pete Burns) producer Barry Stone of Jewels & Stone. The first band was called Versus which switched then to Martin 101 derived from '1-0-1' (Das Einmaleins), which was also a drum machine Martin liked to use (the Roland 101). It featured co-vocals by the legendary Emma and recordings at Milo Studios London with the Spicegirls sound engineer Dave Pemberton. The recordings were innitially made for Sony Music but Martin then went on a own created dance label to get it out as dance tracks in the club circuit.

Martin never pursued to model or act. His agent in London put him up in the 1990s after request bookings by various companies came in who sought his character to be featured in their adverts and products. MTV, VW, Vogue Italia, director John Maybury, Madonna, photographer Rankin (Martin is featured by Rankin in Dazed & Confused, Rankin Works, Unfashionable 30 Years of Fashion), Sony Playstation (TV ads) and many other. To this very date Martin feels more at home as an artist, musician, influencer & songwriter.

Martin started writing lyrics in the 1980s. His first song recordings appeared in the early 90s on a Sony sublabel.

I Own Me , a track written in 1999 by Martin Meister (under Martin 101)  was his first club hit featuring Anya Kaye on co-vocals. His first tech house club-track success (with his own tracks Shining & Elektrofunk under Martin 101) started off at the Miami Winter Music Conference in 2001. He then produced various club tracks including some on co-production with (UK chart topper -) KDA's Kris Di Angelis. Today he mainly records with his own team such as Patrick Kong, Tom Ranosz (Puresound, Left Boy, Christian Eigner of Depeche Mode) and new comer talent Ziv Shalit of the New York stage circuit.
